Let me begin this review by saying that this was arguably the best steak house in Los Angeles, if not the best west of Texas. That said, I have the distinct feeling that Mastro's may be satisfied to rest on their previously deserved reputation. What used to be the absolute best has turned into an overpriced average. If you have been, or read the previous reviews, the bone in filet is the signature cut at Mastro's and is a menu staple. Indeed, a filet is a staple at any steak house. Somehow, Mastor's ran out...on a Saturday night. Did I mention they were also out of lobster? Lobster mash? Nope. Also out. It used to be well worth the price. Now?
