I was in Portland for the first time. This was my first dinning adventure in Portland. The front desk of the hotel referred me to the NV House. Since it was close, I stopped in. I wasn't expecting much, to be honest. Especially being such a food snob. I was pleasantly surprised, however with my steak. Overall, the restaurant was great. The atmosphere was nice and I was waited on promptly. The owner, who was very knowledgeable in wines gave me a short, informative tutorial on local wineries. He paired up a few glasses of different wines to go nicely with my appetizer and a different wine for my entree. The tiramisu was delicious as well. A nice finish to a good meal. Port and all. A great find in the middle of strip-mall dining.
