I can't say enough good things about Palomas (Walnut Creek)! After narrowly avoiding losing everything in a large fire, I decided to celebrate with some new furniture. Palomas happened to be right next door to the Starbucks where I was meeting my friend to start my day's furniture search. From the moment I walked in the door, the staff were awesome. Helpful when I had questions and in the background when I wanted to browse. Palomas specializes in hand-made furniture made by artists in Mexico, Indonesia, etc. I found some wonderful teak dining room chairs and Sarah was tenacious in trying to determine if more could be ordered from the artist/manufacturer in Indonesia since the ones in stock had already been purchased (and were being held for the customer). Over the next few days and through Sarah's follow-up, eventually, success! Next we moved on to finding a compatibly-styled table for these great chairs. Sarah must've helped me drag those chairs to every table in their showroom comparing styles and table heights (since the table heights varied somewhat). I finally found a table I liked, but it was meant as an occasional table, not for dining. Arnie, equally as tenacious as Sarah, worked with the artist/manufacturer of the table (not the same as the chairs), in making modifications to the table so that it could serve as a dining table (4 legs instead of 3 for stability, and modifying the top to allow for a glass round to sit on top as the tabletop). As I type this, little elves are making my table and chairs to arrive in time for Christmas. I couldn't be more pleased with my furniture and can't recall the last time I've experienced a store more willing to go out of their way to help a customer get what they want. All sales are final, but they will allow returns for store credit. If you like the style of their furniture & accessories in the first place, I can't imagine that being a problem.\r
Thanks Arnie and Sarah!
Pros: Willing to go the extra mile to help you find what you want
