I just attempted to purchase some yarn during their highly touted birthday sale, an event which, as a customer of 20+ years, I used to look forward to. Although they had the yarn I wanted in stock, I was told they were too busy to look for it and would continue to be too busy until AFTER the sale. People, what is the point?? In this day and age of discounted online shopping, a bricks-and-mortar store is refusing to sell merchandise it has in hand, to a customer standing in front of them?! I counted 4 or 5 people working and maybe 10-12 customers. As a customer for 20+ years (and sometime employee for a short time in the '90s), I was speechless. I had planned to spend $100-$200 but left instantly. Browse around and get ideas if you must, but money-wise there are many better places to shop online. And Webs (www.yarn.com) in Northampton gives a 25% discount on purchases over $100 all the time.
