I visited Pica's after reading the article that showed it was voted the best pizza in the Philadelphia area. \r
\r
The pizza was bland, it had no flavor. It was partially burnt and had an aftertaste that reminded me of the one you would get from frozen pizza. The dough was flat and rubbery.\r
\r
Unfortunately, I expressed my opinion when the waitress me about my experience. Without my asking for it, she brought the manager to our table. This gentleman was very polite. Even though I did not ask for anything, this gentleman offered to subtract the prize of the pizza from the tab. I accepted and thought it very considerate and becoming of an established restaurant.\r
\r
Sorry to say this wasn't the end of it. A few seconds after the manager left, a person that claimed to be the owner's daughter and who was working the reservations and customer greetings, came to our table and questioned me on my appreciation of the pizza. \r
\r
She started to argue about the importance of my opinion compared to the thousands that made this the top choice for pizza in Philadelphia. SHE EVEN WENT AS FAR AS SUGGESTING THAT IF I DIDN'T LIKE IT WHY WOULD I EAT IT? This person didn't even give me an opportunity to answer... she rushed out after making me feel as uncomfortable as I have been in my entire life at any food serving location. I felt even worst than I used to feel at my Catholic School's cafeteria!!! I understand taking pride in what you do but confronting and trying to argue with a paying customer is beyond my understanding.\r
\r
Since I did not have a chance to answer the lady, I'm using this venue to answer her rude remark:\r
I love Pizza and I will drive for a while to find a good one and after driving for a while, even if it's not the best, I will try to enjoy it and yes, hunger will make me eat it...... at least most of the time.\r
\r
If you visit Pica's please keep your opinions to yourself if you want to avoid being harassed even as you are paying.
Pros: Good Pasta and Food
Cons: Rude ownership that will come to a patron and argue about his opinion... Stay away from the pizza
