Good food but not a ""regular"" place for us 8/3/2006

My husband and I had dinner at the Daily Grill a few weeks back, as it's on our way home. We were greeted at the door and seated quickly. Since it was our first time there, our waitress gave us the courtesy of time to peruse the menu thoroughly. After taking our order, our appetizers came out fairly quickly...but then our dinners came out almost immediately after that. If there is one single thing that irks me in some restaurants these days, it is the fact that I AM THE DINER...the food should be served when I AM READY...not just because the kitchen had a few spare moments to make my entree. I hate it when I have to hurry up and eat my appetizer so my entree doesn't go cold. It doesn't make for a relaxing dining experience. Needless to say, I was peeved.\r \r After delivering our entrees, our waitress pretty much disappeared. She didn't have time to come back to fill our beverages (yet another pet peeve for me), but she did have time to socialize with the table of handsome young men just a few feet away from us. Again...needless to say...she did not receive the best of tips from us. Too bad for her she didn't know that I usually tip 20% or more. \r \r The quality of the food was excellent, by the way. It was a little pricey for everyday dining, though. The atmosphere was comfortable, friendly and casual. I'd like to go here again...but this time have a different wait staff member. Maybe we'll try a different location in the Southland. Pros: Comfortable atmosphere more
