My sister and I often pass by this place and have been meaning to check it out - last (weekday) evening we did and were pleasantly surprised. The miso soup was hot, not lukewarm like other restaurants; the salmon/tuna rolls melt in your mouth; and udon soup came in those traditional pots, also piping hot and no skimping on the chicken and overloading the carrots, if you know what i mean. The noodles could have been cooked less though. 2 classic dishes for under $30 after tax and tip. Service was very attentive and efficient too. Definitely going back and bringing girlfriends next time!
Pros: real sushi in Astoria
Cons: too dim, cramped if too many people
