I travel to Maui every year, and one year my husband and I stummbled upon the Sly Mongoose. We now make it a regular stop on out itenary. As the above post mentioned, it is a local dive bar, but we enjoy the company of the locals after being around tourists all week. The best thing to do there, is ring the bell which signifies that you will buy a drink for the whole bar, I assure you that everyone will be your best friend after that!!
