If you've ever eaten the everyday food in Mexico, you know it is not super hot or spicey. The hot stuff is Tex-Mex. It's OK, but I prefer authentic Mexican food. El Mexico is an unpretentious purveyor of genuine Mexican food. (The only deviation would be the use of ground beef in some entrees.) The decor is ""functional Mexico"". The service is good. The prices are quite reasonable. Perhaps the best recommendation is the number of Mexican people that are eating there. My only warning is to be sure your chips are fresh. Once in a while, I've received stale chips. I pointed it out to the server and was immediately and cheerfully given a fresh batch.
Pros: Great authentic Mexican food!
Cons: Functional, but not elegant decor.
