Le Reve is a phenominal experience from the moment you enter until the moment you leave. My sister was visiting with me in Houston from New York City and brought the recent write up in The New York Times of Le Reve. A last minute cancellation at the restaurant enabled us to have dinner there. When seated, my sister was given a white napkin to go with her light colored dress and I was given a black one to go with my black slacks. With our water we were offered a choice of lemon, lime, orange or raspberry. I've eaten in many top ranked restaurants in many parts of the world and have never seen this much attention to detail. Many times in a restaurant of this stature the service is stuffy. Not so at Le Reve. Everyone was extremely helpful and very friendly. Each course was amazing. Since our dinner selections were quite different we ordered wine by the glass. The recommendations were excellent. Every guest was made to feel very special. With dessert we ordered the ""ulimate coffee experience"". I've never seen anything quite like it. The coffee started out on one side of the very elaborate coffee server and eventually winds up on the other side. It's quite the production. This wasn't just a good dinner it was a dining experience. We were so stuffed at the end that we couldn't eat the fabuous little cookies they served with the coffee. They put them in a beautiful gift box for us to take back to the hotel. I would go back to San Antonio just to dine at Le Reve.
Pros: Food and service are as good as it gets.
