We just did a Cambridge-to-Cambridge move (on the last weekend of July) with Father & Son. It was a very positive experience --- here's what impressed me:\r
- They showed up 10 minutes early.\r
- They didn't bring an extra guy and try to convince us on the spot to include him in the job, like so many movers do. We contracted for a three man team, three guys came.\r
- They worked hard in very hot weather for 5 hours, no breaks. The third guy helped move when the truck was loaded --- no sitting around waiting for boxes to come down.\r
- Nothing broke, nothing was damaged.\r
- Because of the short-distance move, we had already moved most of the light stuff ourselves; it was an all-heavy-stuff move. No complaints, no problems, they just got it done.\r
- They cost a *lot* less per hour than the movers we called around Cambridge, Watertown, etc. The transportation time costs might have been a little higher than with a Cambridge-based mover, but over a five-hour move we definitely saved a lot of money (over $400 compared to some we called; the difference in rates is unbelievable).\r
- We were finishing up with packing during the move, and when we ran out of equipment (boxes, tape) they hooked us up with enough to finish the job. \r
All in all a very positive experience. Do the homework on rates and give these guys a call.
