If you live in Boston and love Indian food, then you need to find a way to get to Kashish in Belmont. It's located in Belmont Center and is accessible by bus (on street parking or the lot behind the restaurant provides plenty of parking for cars). First, I absolutely love Indian food and have eaten at many Indian restaurants (and Indian homes) across the country. Kashish has to be my all-time favorite. The staff members are friendly and the service is outstanding. The decor in the restaurant is upscale and detail-oriented (something missing from many Indian restaurants I've freqented in Boston). Now to the important part...the food! You can order anything on the menu, and you won't be disappointed. I enjoy starting the meal with vegetable samosas. They're not to heavy and are served with 3 delicious sauces (tamarind is my personal favorite). The mango lassis are fantastic, but I prefer to get iced tea on most occasions. My favorite entrees include chicken korma and bhagan bharta. Many indian restaurants serve food that is heavy, unlike home-cooked Indian food. However, the food at Kashsih doesn't seem to bog me down. Well, enough said...I would recommend this restaurant for Bostonians who want to experience a different part of the city. Belmont is definitely more relaxed than Back Bay, Boston and would serve as a great dinner escape for a couple, group of friends or family...my family has shared my enthusiasm for this restaurant.
Pros: Delicious food, nice setting
