The Best Sub Ever!!! 7/11/2006

I'd been hesitant to try Penn Station, because so many restaurants in the past have looked great and then turned out to be average. My brother's friend's recommendation of this place, though, motivated us to finally give it a whirl. The first time we went there I ordered a turkey, provolone, and lettuce sub. We sat down at a table and waited for our food, which didn't take too long. I was surprised when they set a toasted sandwich in front of me. I was so used to eating at Subway that I was expecting a cold sandwich. At first I didn't want it, but then my mom tore off a piece of the turkey, ate it, and said, ""Oh my gosh, this is delicious."" I totally agreed. The turkey is SO lean and juicy and the warm, toasted bread is scrumptious. Every time we've been there (and we've been there a lot!) I've ordered the same thing and have NEVER been disappointed! Plus, Penn Station has a great atmosphere - clean and fun - and seating is never a problem. The only reason you'd have to wait a while for your food is because they have to toast the sandwiches. Believe me, the wait is WORTH it. And you know what's the greatest part? It's not even expensive for such wonderful subs! You can get a 7-inch for maybe 4 dollars or so. The only thing I'd change about Penn Station - or simply improve - is the chips selection. Okay, so they're famous for their yummy fresh-cut potato fries, but some of us would rather have baked Lays with our sandwich, which Penn Station does not have. The only things they offer are BBQ Lays and Sunchips. I'd like to see more variety in that area. But when all said and done, if you're in the mood for a great warm sub, Penn Station is the WAY to GO! Pros: WONDERFUL food, great atmosphere, not a bad wait Cons: Sparce selection of chips more
