I needed to stop at the bank to order a savings bond. I have many neices and nephews and have gotten these in the past. I was close to this bank (not my regular bank) and thought I'd stop in there. When I got there, the tellers were just chit chatting with a customer (whose transaction was clearly over). They did not make eye contact with me nor did they stop the idle chitchat with the customer. Finally they stopped talking and addressed me. I was not so politely told that I could not purchase a savings bond there as I was not a regular customer. They handed me the form and that was that. I'm not quite sure why I couldn't purchase it as I was paying them cash for the bond, and they did not take the time to explain it to me. more
