I used to have a high-maintenace cocker spaniel who wouldn't let anyone get near her to comb her long, curly fur. The vet recommended a low-dose tranquilizer for grooming purposes. Alexander's refused to use the tranquilizer (which I can start to understand from a liability standpoint), but then their ability to groom her effectively was poor, but I still had to pay the high fee. I found someone else who was more understanding, groomed her beautifully, and was significantly more affordable.
