Nippon Tei is one of the best looking places for sushi in St. Louis, but the sushi inconsistant. Some items have been very good to excellent. The rice is sometimes slightly strongly flavored and sometimes weak (probably poor mixing), and the neta (topping on the nigiri) sometimes too thin/small. Once I had the only truely bad piece of fish I've had in ten years in St. Louis. Service is inconsistant too -- often slow and unreactive -- for example, the server barely acknowledged it when I told him about the bad fish. It's generally OK if you're in the area, but there are better places not too far away.
Pros: Occasionally great, Cool atmosphere, Parking
Cons: Inconsistant food, Poor service
