I was visiting Hearst Castle and was staying in San Simeon, but finding Cambria was a gem for the shopping and this restaurant. Since it was a holiday weekend we made reservations (though this seemed uncommon) and while we were eating many groups were turned away. It seemed it was just a cook and the owner working with about ten tables and many take out orders coming in, they were overworked! The meal was slow paced, but what else were we going to do? So we took our time and enjoyed the meal knowing it was just going to be slow paced! The food was great, the service attentive, and the experience overall was a pleasant surprise. The appitizers and sorbet (I got pommegranete) are highly reccommended, as is this restaurant!
Pros: excellent quality, genuine service, experimental foods
Cons: if in a rush, slow, crowded space, reservations
