A few things are quite variable here: 1) the quality of the service, 2) the smokiness of the bar area & 3) the ambiance. If you have to sit at a table in the entry area or the small addition in the back, then the ambience is terrible. The main dining areais much more comfortable/inviting.
The safest menu bet is the John B's burger. The tomato basil soup is usually good although on one occasion so salty I sent it back. I enjoy the house salad dressing. As for the entres, I like the fish tacos & the smoked ribs. We've found the dishes that involve something stuffed with cheese to come out quite greasy. Avoid the tuna steak here unless you like it cooked through, which makes it chewy. The desserts are good and made across the street at the Ravelin bakery.
