We recently went to Mastro's for my husband's birthday. We were greeted warmly and seated promptly (7:15 on a Friday night). The service was friendly and warm. The atmosphere is fun and elegant without being stuffy. The lobster mashed potatoes and chocolate sin cake are musts. Glasses of wine are generous and the steak was so tender it almost fell apart when I cut through it. I was so impressed with the willing-to-please attitude of this high-end steakhouse. I was shocked when the waiter brought the dessert with Happy Birthday written on the plate in chocolate since we only mentioned it was my husbands birthday when the reservation was made. We never said anything to the waiter about the birthday. Talk about thoughtful staff! Be prepared to spend some $$$, but know that is well worth it. I recommend requesting a seat upstairs; the windows make a big difference.
