Antonio's has been an Ojai institution for 40 years, but had fallen on dim times in recent years, as its namesake founder gradually backed away. Now it has a new owner, Nick Moller, who had the smarts to leave the ambience unchanged (sleepy Mexican funk, nothing plastic or fast-food here), upgrade the food, stiffen the drinks, and re-invite the locals who grew up at Antonio's. Very Ojai!

Cons: attracting a crowd!
