The food is actually very good, but they're sort of clueless about vegetarian alternatives. If you ask for vegetarian sausage or veggie bacon, they look at you like you asked for a gorilla burrito. It was uncomfortable because the restaurant is close to Santa Monica and West L.A. and not stuck in the middle of Nebraska, so I didn't quite understand the incredulous looks when I asked for veggie bacon.\r

They also have weird rules that end up costing a lot of money when you ask for substitutes. I think they charge two dollars extra if you ask for tomatoes instead of toast, and there's something else really weird about getting sausage or something with your meal but I can't remember what it was...I blocked it out it was so odd, I remember that! \r

All in all, I'd recommend them because the food is really quite good, and they're nice people who run the restaurant and the service is pretty good. They just need to get with the program that it's not the 1950's anymore, and we're not in Kansas.
Pros: good food. Chef seems to be better than most for breakfast
