AMAZING! 12/20/2006

I don't agree with the bad reviews. This show is definitely NOT overpriced. For the admission fee you get a four-course meal, a 2 1/2 hour show, and you're able to come look around the castle and hour and a half before showtime and afterwards, too! Normally you pay the same price for just the show in other places. Sometimes the food is complained about as being bland, but I didn't agree at all. It was authentic AND delicious. The chicken wasn't overspiced, as I often find with similar dishes, and you get so much food that you can barely finish it all. I've also had the vegetarian plate, which was still delicious and ample. People do walk past offering to sell items, but they aren't forced upon you as said, they would only stop if you asked them to, and they were pretty entertaining- a few of them were dancing to the theme music! They were only there for the first half of the show, they left for the really important parts. Everyone who works there seems to really enjoy it, and there was always a barmaid walking around if you didn't want to get up and leave the show to get an additional drink. The entertainment was riveting- you can actually see the sparks flying from the weapons! I do staged combat in classes, and I can't imagine the training they must've gone through to be so precise with their actions. Afterwards, there was a fun little dance floor called the ""Knight Club"", and you can meet the royalty and the knights. The torture museum was really cool, too. You wouldn't believe the stuff that's in there! Everyone I talked to was really polite and seemed to be enjoying their work, and enjoying their coworkers as well. I have a friend who works there who said that not only is the Schaumburg location the largest of all the Medieval Times restaurants, but is at the top of the lists for cleanliness and service. They get you really involved and even my reserved, picky mother was standing and cheering, as well as devouring the food. DEFINITELY RECOMMENDED! Pros: Good parking, accessible and near other large attractions, plenty of room and good service Cons: The tiered stadium requires handicapped persons to sit in the top row, and anyone having problems with strobe-like lights shouldn't attend. more
