The restaurant has a comfortable room and the food ranges from good to excellent. The staff ranges from excellent to poor. Our server Roy who was fine in the beginning of the evening, snapped when we asked for our drink to be freshened since it was too limey and he asked how he should fix it, I said more tequila and contreau... He fired back, fix an all alcohol drink with more liquor and snatched the glass off the table knocking it into my hand without apologizing while rushing off. My girlfriends mother said is there something wrong(?), he snapped this is the third time we are making your drink and the truth is we had one round that we would?ve preferred being colder and we drank the first round anyway not sending them back. The second round, the one in question was just too limey and if it is too limey Einstein, adding more tequila to cut the acidity of the lime along with some cointreau to sweeten it becomes the solution. Wait staffs work hard for their tips and all of us at the table have been waiters and waitresses along with busing tables and are sympathetic to tipping properly for good service. He chose to walk to the back of the restaurant after the bartender took over the making of our drinks and visibly discussed the events at our table with staff members while looking over at our table and snickering. Somehow the bartender Scot not only managed to repair our drinks but also made the remainder of our night pleasant. He assured us that our waiter wouldn't be returning to finish our dinner service and offered to remove the mixed drinks from our bill. The moral to this story is the food and service at the Fat Canary can be excellent and one bad bird can ""foul"" perhaps not the whole flock, but enough that it would've been a lost evening if it weren't for the sensitive, kind nature of another individual. With that being said, I would highly recommend this restaurant.
Pros: Food, Drinks, Ambience and Some Staff (Scott) You can eat at the bar as well
Cons: Poor attitude (Roy), when it occurs
