My new favorite steakhouse in Tampa 12/1/2006

We were a party of eight that ordered and shared a smorgasboard of appetizers and sides. To start we had the Baked Brie, Calamari, Seared Ahi Tuna, Lobster Tempura, Tenderloin Carpaccio, and French Onion soup. All of the appetizers were presented and tasted excellent! Salads were all ordered individually and enjoyed by all, mine as the Seafood Chopped Salad. It was loaded with lump crab and scallops, excellent! For sides we ordered Baked Potato, Mashed potatoes, Chipolte Cheddar Mac n Cheese (AWESOME!), Creamed corn, grilled asparagus, and sauteed mushrooms. All of the sides were excellent. Our steaks included the 12 oz Filet, 16 oz NY Strip, 22 oz Prime Bone-in Ribeye as well as the Salmon and Lobster Tails. The steak (I ALWAYS order NY Strip) was a hair better than Charley's, my wife's Filet was the best either of us had tasted. Everyone else at the table agreed that their steaks were top notch. Dessert, upon Guido's recommendation we had four lava cakes...WOW! All of the food was great, presentation was excellent. (Obviously the side dishes have been improved upon from some reviews I have read) Service was awesome! Our Sicilian server (who's name is considered an inappropriate word by citysearch's software) was the best! His knowledge of the food and wine were superb. His personality was great. He has the rare ability to interact with each person at the table was excellent. The dining room was a little noisy, but I'd much rather that than a hushed environment. Overall there were four dishes that we agreed are best in town: Calamari, Chipolte Cheddar Mac n Cheese, Lava cake and the Steak. Pros: Parking, Service, Calamari, Lobster Tempura, Steaks, Lava Cake Cons: Depending on where you are seated it can be noisy more
