I was nervous this place would be just a gimmick, but I was happily surprised. They do have the expected N.O. dishes - gumbo, po boys, catfish - but they put an amazing twist on everything. I've never had fried chicken so flavorful, a pork & green apple appetizer to die for, sweet peas that tasted like candy. 1 app, 2 entrees and 2 beers came to $51. Very friendly service, but it's a really cramped space and nowhere to wait, if there's a wait. Also, it was pretty damn chilly by the front windows. But everything we tasted was fantastic, and I'm really happy to have this place in the Slope.
