Unauthorized Credit Card Use, Stubborn Manager 11/30/2006

We used this facility mid-October 2006. We left our dog there for a weekend. The care they gave him was fine, although he developed an eye-infection the day after we brought him home. I'm sure something like that is common in such facilities but our friends' dog also got an eye infection from there on a completely different occasion. When we took our dog to the Camp Bow Wow in Chapel Hill (for a week, no less) he had no such problems. WATCH OUT FOR EYE INFECTIONS AT THIS FACILITY. It took us a vet visit and expensive eye medication to treat the problem.\r \r That wasn't a huge deal. Here is my real greivance. My fiance and I received a $70 charge from Camp Bow Wow on Monday, Nov. 27 (just after Thanksgiving). We'd never made an appointment for those dates. My fiance had received a voicemail two weeks earlier stating that we had an reservation coming up. But since neither of us had made a reservation we thought nothing of it. Our dog's name is Scout and they have several other dogs named Scout in their system so we thought that they probably just called the wrong people.\r \r We've tried in vain to get them to refund our money. They charged us $70 for a reservation we never made, and for two nights of pet sittng we never received. The manager is being very stubborn on this and we're getting nowhere with him. If anything changes, I'll update this to reflect it. In the meantime, I'm very putout with them. They stole our money!! Pros: Good for the dogs, not locked up all day. Cons: Camp Bow Wow is a franchise so use a different venue. Unfair credit card charge. Stole our money! more
