I am a Japanese food fanatic, and am vrey fussy about my food. So I apologize in advance if I had rated the food harshly. Maybe you might have different opinions about it. Ok here goes my opinion of this place.\r
\r
Firstly, I have not sit in the restaurant itself, so I can't review on the atmosphere.\r
This is a new restaurant in San Ramon, so of course the place looks very new.\r
\r
I had take out food, some sushis and noodles.\r
\r
Freshness of fish on the sushi is ok, but the sushi rice is made very badly. The taste of the sushi rice is bad, and the shape is awful. The worst-looking sushi I had ever seen. The sake (salmon) is ok, but the saba does not taste good.\r
\r
The nabe udon is the worst, the udon is chewy, soggy and does not taste fresh. The taste of the soup is plain, I can make better home cooked udon than them (despite the fact that I am a bad cook). You get 1 piece of ebi tempura, but i can cook better fried batter. But anyway the ebi tempura tastes ok.\r
\r
The taste of the fried udon (I don't know the name of this fried udon in the menu) is ok. Tastes like chinese cooking. The udon is also soggy, just like the noodle of the nabe udon. But the fried udon is way better than the nabe udon.\r
\r
The miso soup that comes with the meal - tastes like miso prepared in sachets sold in grocery stores.\r
\r
The edamame - edamame tastes all the same anyway.\r
\r
The only thing that I like about the food in Itto is: the salad that comes with the meal, to be more specific is the salad dressing.
