If you are interested in a non-chain delight, this is it. It looks like a local Italian restaurant. Don't be put off by the ""Pizza and Beer"" sign. (we almost were, but we knew better) Sauce is fresh, garlic bread is light, warm and crispy, and serving is plentiful. You may encounter some wait (the locals said that there always is a wait here), but it is worth the wait. Dinner happens early in this part of town (we had to wait for about 20 minutes around 5:30 pm on a Sunday) but the wait is not intolerable. Grab a newspaper for seniors or drool over the menu while you wait. Seating spans over two dining rooms. Lots of attentive wait staff and efficient (and well-trained!) young people cleaning tables. Restrooms are clean and has a cleaning check-list prominently displayed. There has got to be a maternal figure running this place!! I had the spaghetti with marinara sauce plus sausage and he had the lasagna. Sausage here was really good!! It has to be local sausage. Lasagna was heavy and very tasty. Good stop for a good fill. I hope you enjoy.
Pros: food, local ambience, volume!!
Cons: some wait.
