Ortanique is everything a neighborhood restaurant should be - friendly, warm, delicious, easy and best of all very affordable. If this restaurant were in a busier location, you wouldn't be able to get in the door, I'm convinced of that. As a resident, I'm glad its still a well kept secret, though for Leon's sake, I'd like the word to spread a little more, ideally so he can offer more choices and seating. If you've never had Jamaican food, don't let the idea frighten you. I hadn't either but six months later, I've tried everything on the menu and haven't found an unsatisfactory item yet. Dining there twice a week is proof of that. All of the entrees are terrific and you MUST get the aromatic rice and peas, rather than opting for the safety of white rice. You'll be glad you did.
