I pulled into Sears to get my battery checked. I stayed in the car and pressed the gas when the Sears mechanic told me to, while my fiance stood with the mechanic by the hood of the car while the battery was tested. Good thing my fiance was with me because the mechanic says after the test, ""yep you need a new battery"". But my fiance noticed that the testing device said the battery was fine. The mechanic was at one window saying your battery's dead, and my fiance at the other saying the device said the battery's fine. My fiance told the mechanic that HE saw the device say the battery's ok, so the guy re-tested it, and this time it said the battery was dead. So I told the mechanic that I was concerned the test gave two results. (Was it a mechanical error, or human error?) He threw up his hands in a huff and said rudely, ""I can see where this is going"" and then he walked away. I tried to explain that as a customer I am justified in my concern that I'm being advised to buy a battery when it's not completely obvious that the battery's the problem.
