I moved here from Florida last year and the thing I was most saddened about was leaving my gym behind. (Porky's Gym in Kendall!) I shopped around for a new gym for months and when I discovered World, I signed up immediately. As a former figure competitor, it's important for me to train where in a gym that has proper equipment and a lack of girls with 10 pounds of make-up on hogging the cardio equipment. World Gym is exactly that. No frills, proper lifting equipment and miles of cardio equipment. I have never once waiting to use a cardio machine and the gym is never overtly crowded, even at peak hours. People there are friendly and the staff attentive. I also like the fact that the family maintains it and that the headquarters is on the property. I wish they had group classes, but nobody's perfect. All in all, it's a great value ($30 a month) and I like the environment. If you want a serious no frills gym, World is definitely for you.
