I've been to the restaurant more often than the bar - both are great. The chowder and every seafood dish is amazing. Their brunch is a little pricey but very high quality for buffet food. I brought my parents here just before they took a trip to Hawaii and they said the meal at Duke's was better than the ""authentic"" meals they had in Hawaii! This is the only restaurant, out of hundreds I've brought them to in LA and NY, that they've requested we go back to. So it's definitely a good place to bring parents - for the fun atmosphere, the incredible ocean view, and the creative seafood dishes!
