East Bay deli gets quite crowded during the lunch hour because of its convenient location. I recommend getting there around 11:30am and ordering the Citadel. This sandwich is probably the best they offer. The salad bar is very popular, but if you don't have an appetite for seconds or thirds, it isn't worth the $8. The fries are worth it for the $1 extra charge. If the East Bay Deli is crowded, Ted's Butcher Block is right next door, and ranks even higher on my list of good lunch locations.
Pros: Food quality, convenience
Cons: crowds, not the best service
