My kitten was treated for an emergency and I was quoted $500-600 on top of the $300 I had already spent for treatment that had not worked. I was very upset and worried about how to pay for the treatment. They told me about a credit card I could open that as long as I paid it off within a year, would be no interest (sounded great because I was on a limited income, which they knew, and I wanted kitty to live). They preapproved me for $4000 (much higher than that $500 quote), which should have set off warning bells...\r

It turns out the bill was 3x the original estimate (does a kitten really need THREE chest xrays in 6 days??? think of all the radiation he's getting!!! But hey, look at how much they can charge for it). And the credit card from GE only had a 6 month grace period, NOT the 12 I had been told. Not only that, but if you don't pay off the ENTIRE balance (i.e. if you have even $1 remaining) you are charged 24% interest on the ORIGINAL balance. NOT the remaining balance. Kind of
