The place looked and sounded spectacular. Nice atmosphere until checkout. The rate that we were confirmed in an email for and quoted was double the amount upon checkout. We were told that the employee who booked us made a mistake. We were not told this even as we stayed three nights, purchased massages, robes candles and other gifts yet we were told ""that they were sorry of their mistake but we would have to pay"". Our email conformation meant nothing to them. This ruined what could have been a nice weekend. We asked for the owner who came out and said yes indeed the amount was an ""off-season"" rate and that it was actually almost double. It was the employees mistake yet we had to pay for it. Only after not letting the owner off the hook did she get nasty and inform us that she would ""split the difference"". My wife was so distressed that this was happening that we agreed to half of the ""double amount"" that we were being charged just so we could get on the road and avoid the nasty behavior of the owner. Her employee did not even know what to say since she was the one who made the mistake. She never once apologized directly to us. I was shocked that someone who owns a business that relies upon word of mouth would treat a guest like this especially when it resulted in a mistake because of one of their employees. People need to be aware of this situation if they are considering staying here. Not recommended because of experience. Pros: Nice to be in the desert Cons: Staff and owner are shady more
