This was by far one of my worst dining experiences. My parents were visiting from New York and I took them out for a nice evening, which was ruined by abysmal service.\r
First, we waited 20 minutes with our menus closed on the table for our waitress to take our order until we finally had to flag her down. After she took our order, she said shed bring some bread and butter for the table. After another 15 minutes, we gave up and asked a busboy.\r
Next, we asked that the appetizer that my boyfriend and I were sharing be brought with the soup and salad my parents ordered, so we could all have something to eat at the same time. Instead, our appetizer was brought out and my parents sat and watched us eat.\r
When we complained to management, we were informed that they were a team here and our waitress did nothing wrong. Quite frankly, I wasnt interested in their company structure or values, I cared about the service (or lack thereof) I was receiving. For what its worth, it appears The Customer is Always Right isnt one of those values.\r
The manager also said that we should not have waited so long to say something to her. In hindsight I can only infer that this happens all of the time and most people have learned to complain earlier.\r
To end the painfully long evening, they attempted to automatically apply a gratuity of over 20% to a party of only 4.\r
Sarasota has no shortage of restaurants with great food. It is only the service which separates them. I would not waste your time at Javiers.
