This place is truly amazing: excellent food, good drinks, friendly service and lovely art. The restaurant is usually pretty busy and crowded, so it's not really a romantic spot but it is good for casual dining. Tables are set up close together so that strangers are sometimes sitting next to each other--in many parts of the world this is typical and inspires friendly banter, but I've found that Americans can be a little uptight about this setup. No matter, since the food is fantastic! It is served in small portions so order two (or three if you're hungry) dishes per person and share. For those who don't consider this ""typical"" Mexican food: it isn't, it's Oaxacan!! Oaxaca is very far south in Mexico, near Belize and Guatemala...don't forget Mexico is a huge country with many different types of cuisine that vary from region to region. I highly recommend that you give La Carta de Oaxaca a try!
Pros: Food, quick service, beautiful photographs
Cons: Crowded, wait to be seated
