Who wouldn't love this new ""ultrahip"" downtown spot. I recently ventured out to Spoonriver for Saturday brunch, and despite the hustle and bustle of the farmers market was plesantly suprised by the service and the food. Our server was friendly and fluent with the specials and our food arrived at the table promptly; hot and fresh, not to mention local, organic and sustainable, a claim of which I dont think a handful of restaruants in the downtown area can make. We had a fresh scone (one of the best I've ever had), a curry tofu scrambler, a sloppy jane, a side of potatos, and a couple of bloody marys, all excellent. I will definitely be returning to 'the River' for a another tasty meal, dinner next time.
