My husband and I have made a tradition of staying at the Surfside Motel to celebrate our birthdays and we were happy to discover this restaurant on our first visit to the Vineyard. In the morning, the diner (which was shipped over from the mainland decades ago) has a homey greasy-spoon feel - sit at the counter and have your eggs and coffee while chatting with the cook. In the evenings, WOW! The whole place is transformed into a lovely candlelit cafe with an incredible menu. I look forward to getting my homemade parpadalle with lobster in a saffron cream sauce every year. The waitress even went out of her way to have the chef special-order some of the ingredients when they ran out, knowing my husband and I were aching to have the dish. We're already dreaming of our visit next year. . .
Pros: Excellent food, love the staff
