I have visited the Prairie Schooner - Timbermine and Famous Daves and I have to say this has the best food of all. The price wont hurt you either. There are numerous locations nearby to Salt Lake City or Ogden, but my favorite is in Riverdale (Ogden) where the atmosphere of the old style log cabin adds to the experience. The Rib Eye or Prime Rib are excellent and the Baked Potatoes or Yams are terrific. Everything is served promptly and the wait staff is very friendly. Very highly recommended but it can have an hour long wait times. Calling ahead may help - it is popular among locals and tourists.
Pros: Really good food - great atmosphere - very good service
Cons: Longer wait times in busy season.
