The founder Jim Comfort's philosophy was to give a man a good steak, a good martini and fresh oysters and he will return. His son Greg owns and operates Jim's in Bloomington. He follows his dad's principles and makes a home like atmosphere where customers feel like part of the family. Eddie the head cook is an outstanding chef. The waiters are attentive but not overly intrusive. We grew up here and get to Jim's two to three times a month. Our favorites are: Oysters on the half shell, Shrimp Dijon, New York Strip Steak (the J.C.), Filet, the big Lobster tail, the house salad. The soups are excellent and at noon they have Maidrite hamburgers.
Pros: Excellent chef, treat you like family, warm pleasant atmosphere
Cons: Outside of lobster tail and the oysters on the half shell we don't care for their seafood dishes.
