I purchased a new refrigerator from American 8 years ago and have had it maintained by them since. They also sold us a maintenance contract on the closed system covering 10 years. We noticed the refrigerator was not cooling adequate and in fact the freezer was no longer freezing...we called and were given a repair date a week away! After indicating that may be fine for couch it was not adequate for a food storage unit they gave us a date 4 days away. After the Tech checked the unit he indicated it was not the closed system but a fan which was not covered by the warranty purchased. $225 later he leaves. 5 hours later still no cooler! After calling and asking to have the repairman sent back, I was informed the earliest he could come was more than a week away! Again I voiced my dismay, requested to speak to the supervisor or department manager and was put on hold for over 10 minutes with several ringing/hold times in between. The woman then said she had been trying to find a tech who could come out sooner, but was not successful. She indicated she would talk to some techs when they came in after their rounds and someone would call back before 6PM. That was Friday night. It is now Monday afternoon and I called again and asked to speak to the service manager. Aaron said he would transfer me. After several times of being placed back on hold Veronica picked up and again I requested the service manager. I was then disconnected. I called back and asked for the general manager who was out today and the receptionist asked if she could transfer to someone else and what it was regarding. I explained it and she connected me to Kelly a supervisor in the service department. She checked the file and the schedule and found a time to send them back out for tomorrow and could not explain why the others didn't see the opening...in the mean time I've thrown out hundreds of dollars worth of food and it still doesn't work. We shall see tomorrow...but the trip was horrible
