I've been eating at Margaux's for at least ten years. I love the food, decor and eclectic menu. It isn't inexpensive- but for the price, it can't be touched in Raleigh. The wine list is impressive (I wish for more French wines) and reasonably priced.
The service is good- if there's a problem, the owner or manager hovers at the entrance. The only potential downside is that it is located in a brick strip. If you're trying to show off for a business dinner, it might not be the right place- but if you want to show someone (a date?) the best dining in town, you've found it.
The menu changes often- every time I go in, I'm torn between trying something new and one of my favorites (get the Filet Mignon). Ask about how Margaux's was named- it's a great story (that used to be on the old menus).
