Last year we tried Soma and we practically wept with joy over the lamb with risotto. Now with its new chef, it is like going to dinner at a your eccentric, organic aunt's house and eating clumsy ""its good for you"" food. Appetizers: pear with beets, prune gnocchis, letucces and yogurt salad. Pul-eese. Who pays to eat that stuff? My ""lamb"" tasted alot like mutton, just like the old country. My desert was never ordered (but they did comp it). The waitress and the chef are both brand new. Is that an excuse? The music was bassy and reverberated through the wall, ba bump, ba bump, ba bump. Just like that old college dorm room you had with the loud neighbors. I could not run out of there fast enough, $150 lighter for two people. Bottom line: check out the menu and chef du jour before you chance this place.
