I recently shopped in the Maternity section at Sears. I found a clearance rack and was buying some items for my newly pregnant daughter.
When I took the items to the register, and they rang up at 9.99, instead of the advertised 4.99, the clerk insisted that those items were not supposed to be 4.99. I pointed out that the rack was full of like items, and the sign clearly stated 4.99.
I stood there for at least 10 minutes while she called different managers.Mean while a long line was forming behind me.
She finally gave them to me at the stated price. But when I pointed out to her that Sears has a price guarantee, she had never heard of it. Even when I showed her the policy that was posted at the register, she still didn't know how to work it in.
