None of us are serious wine connoisseurs, but 6 of us went up to Bonny Doon Winery, above the fog on the beautiful Highway 1 coast off of Santa Cruz, and I was amazed at the level of service in the small and bustling, yet intimate tasting room. Our host poured 12 different wines for us, all free! Some were definitely too young, but there were 3 that I enjoyed enough to buy 5 bottles each; for example, a white Grenache and a very taste Framboise. The wines were a steal, and perfect wines for warm sunny days to eat with strawberries off the coast. Perfect pit stop for a picnic in Santa Cruz!
