Cynthia Merrill School of Performing Arts is the best place in Fresno for children and adults alike to be exposed to the arts and learn the art of dance or music or any of their other subject offerings. They offer classes for students of all ages, and no matter what the level, they offer highly experienced and gifted instructors. They teach their students not only the art they're learning, but also respect and self-confidence and poise. The atmosphere is encouraging to children of all skill levels, and they allow those who are gifted to advance as they are able (they don't place students solely based on age). My favorite thing about Cynthis Merrill's is the way they integrate literature into their dance instruction, even for the littlest dancers. They will perform a story instead of just a choreographed dance at their shows (instead of a typical recital), and all the dancers get to be characters in the story.
