We were shopping in Daly City and had a craving for Japanese food. We found this restaurant nearby and decided to try it. It turns out that this is a well-kept secret and we were lucky to find it. It's warm, inviting, and has been here for 19 years. The female sushi chef is the proprietor. She is from a city near Kyoto and does not serve anything that she wouldn't enjoy eating. The sushi is extremely fresh (on a Sunday night!) and delicious, as was the Yaki Niku beef. Every order over $13 gets free miso soup with oshinko salad and free green salad! This the best miso I've ever had (including in Japan). The oshinko was outstanding. Be sure to try the hawaiian sashimi (better than poke!). Excellent prices.
Pros: fresh, delicious, free parking, authentic
Cons: only 3 spot sushi bar
