I lived near New Haven Connecticut over twenty years ago. We used to go to Pepe's, Sally's and the Spot. These places are now owned by the same family and serve the same style pizza, which they call Abeets. The Pizza from New Haven is what they serve in Northern Italy. It is thin cristed, has just the right balance of sauce, crust and cheese and melts in your mouth. Now Mike, the owner of Tomatoes, is a graduate of the Culinary Institute; the best cooking school in the world. Mike ""went underground"" and learned how to make New Haven Style pizza by working at Sally's. He learned from the masters. These is nothing like Tomatoes between here and New Haven. Whenever I go back east I make a pilgimage to New Haven. But now I really am missing noting. Bravo Mike! Try Tomatoes Abeets. You won't be sorry.
