I dreamed of spending my honeymoon in a beautiful hotel with a balcony overlooking the ocean. So when I asked that this point be guaranteed upon booking my room, Marriott LIED to me. I disovered the truth upon check in - you CAN'T get a real ocean view room unless you book a SUITE. Our view consisted of an industrial park.
I thought that being outside of Honolulu would be a good thing, BUT, this property is located on the dry, barren, poverty-stricken side of the island - something else Marriott isn't going to brag about. To go anywhere or do anything that isn't associated with the hotel, you MUST have a car.
So, if you'd like to be held captive in an overpriced hotel, where their "award winning restaurant" has below-average food, & the pool (& hot tub) is crammed with noisy kids, this is the place for you!
